Following on my previous post on 7 Gorriones, animation wise, a teaser short is being put together (when will it be done is anyone's guess). In anticipation, here's the colour board for said short.

Some Posters
In 2014 I was asked to do a series of posters for Pixels, a local entrepreneur initiative by the Salvadorian Ministry of Commerce. It's a once a year event with a Salvadorian theme as a must. The drawings were mostly based on a rather obscure volume by German Anthropologist Leonhard Schultze-Jenna and myth stories he gathered in the Sonsonate region in the late 1920's. Image four, the witch with the raised hair and the two snakes with hog heads, never made it to print.

Chuck Jones 1994
Not many items from my brief stint at Chuck Jones Productions have survived, but here they're, all 3 of them, in full scanned color (from color xeroxes!).
It was during my brief visits at the studio (was freelancing from home) that I met Maurice Noble and became loosely attached to "The Noble Boys", or so I'm told. Maurice was great, his surname perfectly reflecting his demeanour, and I treasure the talks we had.

7 Gorriones Part I
This has been an ongoing project for the past 4 years or so, and still waiting to happen. Much development, boards, revisions, et al. It's meant to be an animated piece based on the memoirs of Chiyo, an acquaintance of mine, one of countless kids engulfed by the Salvadorian Civil War of the 80's.
I met the book's author years ago, much before the book happened and through that time only had vague hints of the tragedies that lurked in his past. These were some of the early background and layout studies done in late 2012.
For those interested in the book and it's author, there's a fan page on FB.

Cipotes I
Cuentos de Cipotes has defined my career as animator in Central America. Done on the cheap -as everything here usually is- and using early 2000's PC tech, the project took ages to get done. Regardless of it's limitations, it's become a reference of sorts in the local indie scene.
From time to time, I indulge in creating vignettes for the Cipotes FB page, playing with different techniques and styles that can be done rather quickly. All take as inspiration local folklore, or traditions. Here are a few samples.

Anthropology
Poster proposals for the Salvadorian Congress of Anthropology in the mid 2000's, with my liking for Art Deco always present. The top version was the chosen one.
Hyperion 1996
Color sketches and proposals for Happily Ever After, at Hyperion, back in 1996. None of these made it into production though (or so I think).
